Shredding Services

Postby Bwis53 » Fri Mar 30, 2012 2:57 pm

I need to clean out my files and shred documents. I've fallen behind and don't feel like shredding all my own stuff. I'll probably end up with close to two paper grocery bags full. Can anyone refer me to a document shredding service, convenient to the near south side? Thanks in advance.

This Wisconsin government office used to offer free shredding from time to time. http://privacy.wi.gov/

Don't know if Walker cut that service from their budget. But give them a call.

Last year there were a couple free shredding events around Madison. So far i've found this one if you can wait until April 21st in Fitchburg. Up to 5 boxes worth can be shredded for free. http://www.pellitteri.com/news.jsp?id=758 There's also this http://wisconsin.bbb.org/shredfest on the same day.

Put 'em in a 5-gallon bucket with soapy water, let sit, then agitate with a drywall mud mixer. Pour through a sieve and let dry. Or pour on to papermaking screens, dry, and re-use.
