I tripped and fell into a lifeboat.

I tripped and fell into a lifeboat.

I had to keep this one for posterity.

IN A farcical new twist the captain of the stricken cruise liner Costa Concordia has denied accusations he abandoned ship, saying he tripped during the panic on deck, and fell overboard into a lifeboat.

Oh goodness me. Now I can't get back and save anybody!

That must have been right after he ordered dinner.

I've been on one cruise. It's like going to Noah's Ark in the Dells on a 95 degree Saturday in July, except you can't get in your car and leave.

Strange. That's not what it looks like in all those ads I get in the mail.

The Italian press loves stuff like this and is having a field day. My Italian friends have been sharing some great links, here is some amazing video:

Of course I am asking my friends to PER FAVORE buy me a "Vada a Bordo, CAZZO!" (get back on board, you F*ck) tee shirt. I can't wait for the tote bag!
Actually it looks like CafePress already has them!

Oh yeah, the pictures of 8 very attractive people around the pool and 2 waiters with trays full of unclaimed Mai Tais.

The first day, I walked into the pool area and I think I actually glimpsed some water through the sea of humanity, most of whom were hovering around waiting for a chair to open up.

It's the gluttony that bothered me the most. In the dining room you can order anything and everything. People would order one of each entree just to try them all, leaving plates full of food everywhere. Thousands of people stuffing themselves day after day with minimal to no physical exertion.... It's not a boat so much as a big shiny poop factory.

Just my experience of course. I'm sure there are good times to be had!

When I was going to be drafted during Vietnam, I enlisted in the Navy instead, thinking that the captain was suppose to go down with the ship. I guess that was wishful thinking on my part.

Has anyone else heard the conversation between the captain and the equivalent of the coast guard? The captain refuses to assist in the evacuation of the ship.
