I think this is a measure of happiness among the locals, not the tourists. Nevada is suffering from high unemployment and a real estate bust. The locals are not happy.

I'm guessing not many people from Madison have ever been to Portland. Madison is heading down the same road. Did you see how many kids OD'd on heroin this week in our fair city? That is Portland 15 years ago.
