Wow I hope nobody got these diseases. What a bad letter or call to get. I wish they said which Dean clinic it was.
"Dean Clinic officials said Monday that a former employee may have exposed some patients to blood-borne diseases, such as hepatitis and HIV during the last five years. Clinic administrators informed state and local health officials about the results of their internal review, said Dr. Craig Samitt, president and CEO of Dean Clinic. Now, administrators are mailing letters and calling 2,345 patients that could be affected. The employee, a female nurse no longer with the company, improperly used insulin demonstration pens and finger stick devices during patient visits between 2006 and 2011."

Both Craig Samitt, Dean's chief executive officer, and Mark Kaufman, chief medical officer, described the risk as "small" because the educator, who worked out of the Dean clinics on Stoughton Road and in Sun Prairie, did not re-use actual needles.
