I miss the Classic Arts channel

How can cultural elitists like ourselves put TV in the Culture category? Well, where the hell else is it going to fit?

I miss the Classic Arts channel

Postby Beaver » Fri Jan 14, 2011 2:31 pm

I used to enjoy videos from the Classic Arts channel 97 on Charter expanded cable. The channel also shows Madison School district (MMSD) programs part of the day and is actually the MMSD channel. MMSD was showing Classic Arts as a community service.

Since sometime in Fall the Classic Arts shows have not been shown. I called MMSD and they said Classic Arts is a satellite broadcast but the MMSD dish receiver broke in Nov. They haven't been able to repair it yet so they can't show Classic Arts. I hope they can get it fixed soon. Or I wish someone else like WYOU or PBS would pick up the Classic Arts.

thanks for reminder, that is an entertaining show that I often landed on accidently. I haven't watched it for years (no doubt because the channels got moved up into the ozone.) I'm guessing channel 97 is analog, and it is on some other digital number.
