This occurred to me this morning - what if the Badgers win out and miss a BCS bowl due to their weak non-conference schedule? They'll have nobody to blame but themselves.

(I'm not sure if its possible for them to win out and miss a BCS bowl, I suppose it depends on the schedules of the other undefeated and single loss teams.)

I don't want to get ahead of myself here though, they have 3 more tough games, tough in the sense that the pressure is on and they can't afford a sloppy game where they don't play like they can.

Yes, Coach B deserves a lot of credit, they look much better than mediocre. I don't think Tolzien gets enough credit for this offense, he has played very well this year.

BCS standings will come into play if UW, OSU and MSU all win out. Unless the Badgers are incredibly sloppy yet victorious in all three remaining games and OSU is completely dominant, I just don't see them jumping UW in the rankings. The computers aren't high on UW, but they're no better for OSU. If Iowa, MSU and UW all win out and tie on top the conference Sparty gets the bid automatically as Iowa drops out due to the AZ loss.

My fearless prediction: as much as I'd love to see Sparty lose I think they'll find a way to win at Penn State. I think Iowa knocks off OSU and wins out as well, putting Sparty in the Rose Bowl and giving the Badgers the Orange Bowl.

I wish I believed Bucky would win out. None of the remaining games are as easy as they might look, especially at Michigan.

(Captain Hindsight says...)

Well, surprise surprise, you bunch of no- good fair- weather fans. Seems like we've got a pretty damn good chance to go to the Rose Bowl. Boosh.

Well, I can say that after watching the ILL-INI roll over us for 500+ yards on the ground at Wrigley, I am not looking forward to Saturday at Camp Randall. That's gonna be brutal.

Even so, I'm glad it's not in Evanston. Badgers often play poorly there.

I'm just trying to get my mind around using 3rd string running back John Clay to run out the clock in the 4th quarter.

Has anyone noticed how Montee Ball doesn't so much run as he does glide? Like a speedskater. And somewhere hidden there's a top gear he rarely engages cuz he's doing such a great job following the excellent blocking.

Sure. One of those occasions where one is fortunate to be happy about being wrong.

Nice call, OJ. Rarely, if ever, has it felt this good to be this wrong.

Congrats, Scott Tolzien.

Coach "B" once again proved that the learning curve is steep and ongoing.

The Badgers were a well-coached team. They did not play at a quick enough pace at the end of both halves, that is a fair criticism. But that has always been a challenge for this lumbering team. No team ever plays a perfect game. TCU is a slightly better team that played slightly better.
