That's a completely different kind of bug.

I had a client mention they had them in town in their apartment and the costs and methods to get rid of them. A couple of grand and a couple of weeks of effort. Big bummer.

From this weeks isthmus:

http://www.thedailypage.com/isthmus/art ... icle=30447

Quote:
" Both building inspection and Public Health can take enforcement action when bedbugs are reported. "Our role has been to hold the property owner's feet to the fire, says Hausbeck. "We know it's not going to be solved easily. If you do it the wrong way, it's just going to keep coming back to haunt you."

Hank says the city ordinance requires rental owners to lose the bugs. "If they don't get rid of them, the tenant would be eligible for rent abatement," he says. "And if they continue to not correct the problem we could prosecute them."

My friend is a campus landlord and he has been dealing with this problem for awhile. He doesn't rent an apartment with bedbugs. Last month he actually hired a trained dog to go through several buildings to find any infestations so they could take care of them. But thanks to the above mindset, as soon as someone moves in and brings bedbugs with them, it's then my friend's problem. He then has to go back in and treat the place (and check adjoining apartments) at his own expense. Then, if that tenant goes out and trash picks another bug infested chair and brings it back, it's once again my friend's problem.

That's fucked up. Oh, but he's an evil slumlord with all the money in the world so fuck him, right?
