Ken's on Monona Drive has some of the best meat in town.

Ken’s is fairly reasonable but it’s not the same quality of meat you would get at Jenifer, or even a Jacobsons.

Went to Tornado the otehr night.

Had the grass-fed steak au poivre and it was brilliant. Done just perfectly, nice flavor, good sauce, tender but not mushy. I approved. One of the better steaks I've ever had, to be honest (not quite *the* best, but pretty effin good). My lovely companion had a NY strip that was also delicious and too big to finish.

What WAS disappointing is that they changed their fries. They used to have these giant steak fries that were super-crispy outside but fluffy inside, and were often the highlight of a meal for me. Now we've got a smaller portion of more standard "frites"-style fries that weren't cooked as well and seemed a little limp. They tasted fine, especially when they'd been soaking up steak juice, but it was disappointing that the big crispi-fluffy ones were gone.
