My bill hasn't changed.
I also got a $100 rebate check from U Verse for switching from Charter.
I don't know if they still have that promotion.

$7 per additional set is a crime, but U-Verse is offering $300 cash back now. Looking at U200 for the included DVR and of course the cashback eligibility, and 6.0 mbps Internet service. 3 TVs = $113 plus taxes and fees. Not crazy about adding expense with this move, but it'd be nice to finally take part in the DVR era.

Officially displeased with how often the U-Verse wireless signal drops (don't try Hulu-ing anything, because the fucker will cut out at least 7 times in an hour-long episode), but the TV is great.

I need to pull the trigger and switch to U-Verse.

I'll keep my internet with Charter. I recently traded in my modem for a new one and I'm getting 2.5 to 3x the speed I'm paying for.

Does U-Verse just go through the phone line?

Nope, it goes through a separate fiber optics line. My neighborhood was wired for it last spring. But since I have TDS DSL, I can't switch directly to any AT&T Internet service. TDS rents their lines from AT&T and their contract has a non-compete clause, forcing me to be without the Internet and landline phone for a least a week.

The fiber optics are out on the pole.
It comes into your house through your existing coaxial cable or telephone wires.

Might be. But the time the internets spends in the fibesr speeds it up a bit. Or so they say (and for that they make you pay).
