Forum Thread Activity Off Front Page?

Postby rrnate » Wed May 27, 2009 3:02 pm

Hey - I noticed a couple of weeks ago that the display that showed active threads on the front page disappeared. I hoped that maybe it would return, that this was just a momentary or temporary thing, but it's still gone. How did we Forons lose our prestige? Is this because Chuck is posting again?

Not sure, but maybe there's not enough threads about sweater vests?

How could there ever be enough threads about sweater vests?

That would be, like, infinity plus five!

Two threads on this annoyance ain't enough. I'm surprised at the lack of commentary about this.

Sorry dawg. I thought it was just cause and effect but clearly there is a greater vision at work here.

I know what you mean. I mean, we are dangerously close to the end of sweater vest season here and I am feeling morose. My torso just feels so naked w/out that extra layer of sartorial statement.

Sure, I could have just said "it's a new fourth tab--NOW RED, INCIDENTALLY-- on the popularity box over on the right hand side," but who can pass up a chance to be passive-aggressively pedantic?

Calling people "Dawg" is easily my worst habit ever. I just called the middle-aged lady in accounting (here at work) "Dawg". ("What up dawg? Let's get this payroll sorted out!") In my world, "Dawg" is a non-gender-non-status-specific pronoun that is pretty much ubiquitous. Everyone gets it sooner or later.

I have other bad habits but this one is the most humiliating.

I'm not even sure what you're getting at here Joyce. Are you just trying to highlight my intensely personal confession?

The best part about this is that you say it like a corn-fed (Cornish?) white boy.
