add-on to pause ads?

Postby Nick Berigan » Thu May 21, 2009 6:16 am

Anybody seen any kind of add-on that might hit pause on all the animated ads on a page automatically?

Are you using firefox? If so, you don't need an add-on for this.

Type about:config in your URL bar, click the button to continue if you see a warning, type "animation" into the filter area, double click on "image.animation_mode" and change from normal to none

That worked good. Now do you have one that will get rid of the white-wing guy?

But seriously, I sort of new that FF had this editing function but have never played around with it. Is there a site that explains what all these lines do? The "help" in the toolbar was no help. And when I searched Mozilla for "about:config" I got some articles about "about." Maybe I'm searching wrong.

Yes, thanks, pantloads. No, really. Now I've got something to do on a rainy day when I'm worn out from all my other projects. Who knew? 8)
