How might it be Portland Senior, then? Lord knows, it needs to do something.

The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry is pretty neat, if you're feeling a little geeky.

A bit too early for the rose gardens, but the Japanese Gardens are lovely--I was there a few years ago mid-April.

Second (or third, I guess) for the Hawthorne neighborhood. Also Powell's.

The Rogue Public house in the Pearl District http://www.rogue.com

For a bit of outdoorsyness - A quick trip to Multonomah Falls is always fun.

You can spend hours browsing the shelves at Powells

Always good people watching at the Portland Saturday Market

Hope that helps...I love Portland and visit 2-3x a year.

...the Pacific Northwest is also famous for great coffee...Coffeehouse Northwest on W. Burnside and Trinity ( a few blocks from Powell's Books) serves some of the best. No matter what you're into- check out yelp.com for Portland and you will get reviews from Portlanders about restaurants, clubs, galleries etc...have fun!!

Go for the microbrews, stay for the black tar heroin.

Hey made it back. Great trip. Thursday we got in and had a great burger at Radio Room. Friday hit the coast. Cannon Beach and then some hiking to Falcon Bay a bit south. Friday night I made it to Ground Control for some pinball and 2$ tall boys of High Life and Pabst. Saturday we did Voodoo Doughnuts. My lady got the Cock and Balls. Then some more downtown area. Then hit Hawthorne St. Lots of good shopping. House of Vintage and a number of other vintage clothing stores. We then hit the bar on the top floor of the Nines hotel. Great view although there is a big building blocking Mt. Hood. mt St Helens was in full view. After that I had Lobster at Jake's Grill and then we saw Richard Cheese at Dante's also great. Quite a it packed in there. Wish I could have spent another day on the coast. We had a long layover in MN so I checked all the restrooms for Ned and other Conservatives. I can see how that place would turn them on what with all the Fox News magazine stands.
