Laudate Satin Solstice Imperial Stout

Postby fennel » Fri May 08, 2009 5:45 pm

Intended for winter consumption, maybe, but this stout is a endearingly chewy companion to wrapping up a long day in the sun. I think it has beautiful balance: deep woodland humus and bitter cocoa with a slight sweetness that beautifully complements the muscularity of it's deeply-rooted thighs.

And to think I had given up on stouts ...

(Central Waters Brewing is the maker.)

More appropriate for winter perhaps, but it's one of the milder, smoother imp. stouts and they DO make it year round. Their Brewhouse Coffee Stout and Peruvian Morning Stout are MONEY.
