Madison Reality Show???

How can cultural elitists like ourselves put TV in the Culture category? Well, where the hell else is it going to fit?

Madison Reality Show???

Postby MeLurkyLongTime » Sat Mar 28, 2009 1:00 pm

http://www.channel3000.com/entertainmen ... etail.html

"Madison-area restaurant owner Chris Peterson confirmed to WISC-TV that he's been in talks with a "major production company" to shoot a restaurant-style reality show at his establishments and at his home in Verona. He said it's now a "done deal."

This is apparently based at some restaurant in Fitchburg called Good Times, anyone ever heard of it or been there? It is a little odd that Madison will be represented nationally as Fitchburg.

It's the old Fitch's Chop House. They've been in business for less than 6 months. I have yet to find a compelling reason to eat/drink there.

Their logo makes that joint look like an 80's video arcade.

That pretty much nails it. You do know what goes on in there, right?

Google maps says that's a three-and-a-half hour walk from downtown Madison. That may be Wisconsin, but it ain't Madison.

Wow thank god someone has made a Chuckie Cheese for adults I was starting to get weird looks there when I went in without any kids to play ski ball. Why would you want a local restaurant to look like a national chain?

I mentioned it in The Madison pinball crawl.

Honestly, not enough games for a gamer, food not outstanding either.
But a little improvement in either department (like the kind of improvement brought on by having a reality show involved) would make the place worth coming back to over and over.

I was unaware that Madison proper was only downtown. It may be a 3 hour walk, but its a 15 minute drive. if you live on the west side its likely less than that.

The winner of the competition takes half ownership of Good Times -- and reportedly will earn at least $250,000 per year.

... assuming Good Times stays open long enough and is consistently packed. Would love to see the small print.

He said he had a "life-changing moment" last November and realized he was just doing too much. He wanted to give someone else the opportunity to be successful so he could spend more time with his family.

But instead of going through the traditional managerial/partner interview process, why not also make a bundle on a production deal? SCORE!

Btw, regardless of walking time (I technically work in Madison, but if we're going by that standard, it's more like Illinois), the contest is based in Fitchburg and his "$4 million home" in Verona.

Meh. Someone tell me how it ends.

I'm guessing it won't. I don't think "canceled due to low ratings" is considered a proper ending.

I can't see this being interesting to anyone in Dane County, let alone outside of Dane County.

Anybody wanna form a ski-ball gang a la Warriors style and liven up the show a bit? We could wear ridiculous outfits and chant skeeee-balls come out and plaay-eyaay.

"canceled due to low ratings"

Goes hand in hand with "went out of bidness due to shittiest food ever".

Has anybody done a CCAP search on this guy? He has been convicted of his third DUI and is being sued by AMEX and M&I Bank. And his house isn't worth $4 million - it is listed for sale on First Weber's website at $2.3 million. Take the virtual tour.

Well isn't that interesting. So...
He wanted to give someone else the opportunity to be successful so he could spend more time with his family.

translates to:
I need the money.

Here I thought the "family time" excuse was limited to politicians.
