ST. Patty's day and no new drinking thread?

Postby eriedasch » Tue Mar 17, 2009 2:04 pm

I'm busy so I'll not likely even get out tonite, but surprised no new drinking threads on one of the biggest drinking holidays of the year.

Maybe it's a no-brainer, most are hitting the Irish Bars.

What's up with the big blow-out at Claddagh?

Or maybe everyone is already drunk?

We were going to eat dinner there on Friday but the parking lot had the big tent etc up. With no one at all in it. Kind of lame. Is tonight the Days of the New/Sponge concert or did that happen more appropriately over the weekend?

The new ESPN FM affiliate is doing a big thing from 12 to 12 today. Of course, they keep calling it "Claddagh's Irish Pub," but they're jocks, and radio jocks to boot.

The electronic billboard near the John Nolen westbound on-ramp was advertising the "new" Claddagh. Did they change ownership? New menu focus?

I think maybe it's new to people who don't spend a lot of time on the west side. I really like the place. I love their Monahagn meatloaf sandwich, the Corned Beef, Bangers and Mash, Good beers on tap. I like the place. Just think they are reaching a little if they think they are going to be able to pay for these type of events. Even on their biggest day of the year.

Yeah, that meatloaf sandwich is pretty awesome. I met up with a friend there a couple weekends ago and Claddagh's was showing the UFC fights. The place was packed, so they must have done something right in terms of advertising it.

Tonight I'm looking forward to my dad cracking open his bottle of Bushmill's 12-yr single malt reserve - a souvenir I brought him from Ireland last fall.
