Is Kurt a troll?

Postby kurt_w » Mon Apr 12, 2004 4:12 pm

Am I a troll?

The ostensible reason for this thread is that I've just been accused of being a troll, along with a vague, implied suggestion that I should leave or be banned.

The other reason for this is that I've always wanted to see how one of these poll thingies worked.

So go ahead, take the poll!

Regards,

Kurt

Loved your WOOP WOOP WOOP over in the other thread!

Calling you a troll for that post is the lamest thing I ever heard, which of course when the subject is NF is really saying something.

Ned calling you a troll is like the pot calling the kettle, well, hmm.. a troll.

Ned...people who live in glass troll houses shouldn't, well, throw troll stones.

dictionary.com defines "troll" as:

"An electronic mail message, Usenet posting or other
(electronic) communication which is intentionally incorrect,
but not overtly controversial (compare flame bait), or the
act of sending such a message. Trolling aims to elicit an
emotional reaction from those with a hair-trigger on the reply
key. A really subtle troll makes some people lose their
minds."

Is this what trolls are about? Or has it broadened in scope to a wider swath? I'd rather have the idiots here on the forum showing their cards--its not as if anyone who fools around in the political part of the forum is going there to change someone's mind or to have their own changed.
There are no sarcasm keys here.
If someone who you do not know and have never met who does not know you can type something to a public forum that makes you go apeshit, then maybe its time for you to turn off the computer.

I don't have an answer. I just wanted to commend your use of the word "swath."

...and from out of nowhere oidvoid comes in to take away any possibility of Kurt being considered a troll.

Looks like oidvoid has contained his/her trolling to the Blues threads, which is why you might not have noticed him.
