FYI: Isthmus' circulation is up around 65,000, and its readership is double that. It's been shown through surveys and media audits that a large number of those readers use the local music listings in the paper.

I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'.

12 people an hour more like. Rick's has a circulation of 5000 and growing. and the writing is much better than Max Ink and in more detail than Isthmus. I think they all help in various ways, and WORT is a bigtime help too, but even WORT only devotes one 3 hour slot to local music (mainly rock) on Fridays and then occasionally plays local music at other times. Rick's is solely devoted to local music

Not to mention when you email Rick with a question, comment, request or whatever he will write back and address your needs.

Rick's Cafe is not mired in Madison's music cliques and to me the Isthmus is...

5000 issues and growing and each issue has a ton of great usable information for us small timers as well as promo that undoubtedly has brought people to shows (at least from what I've seen when I ask people who come to subvocal shows)

Rick's Cafe is going to continue to be, and to grow as, an important part of Madison's music scene and along with WORT, WSUM and Entertainment "rags" like The Isthmus, will only help to strengthen this towns image as a great place to play a gig or to hear some of the best "new" music in the country
