Finally got to Mad Dogs-It's the real thing!

Where are you eating and what do you think? What's opening, closing, succeeding, failing?

Now that you're back in Wisconsin, you can get some cheese to go with that whine. Welcome home.

Gee, that's a pretty pessimistic outlook.

Hypocrite.

Yeah, Raining Piss-o-mism is the order of the day.
But it's better than self delusion!
Go Cubbies!

And what about Chili Dogs?

Not much of one.

I live way out on the West side and I'm not gonna drive all the way downtown if they don't have good cheese dogs. That's right - I'm an asshole.

It's half a block from my place, but I have no idea how to assess the quality of a cheese dog. What am I supposed to be looking for here? Maybe I can tell you whether one tastes better with or without my bison chili on top.

I just want to know if it's real cheese or melty cheesy food product.

Thanks, in advance - it's awfully Christian of you to check for me.

There are no cheese dogs, only chili cheese dogs. I got a chicago dog with cheese on the side and a "walking taco". The cheese is not exactly nacho, but it does come in a big vat with a pump and though cheddary and described as "aged cheddar" was nothing special, tastier than nacho at least.

The chicago dog was good, but I think I preferred dog eat dog over this place. Maybe that's more to do with the various dog options. I suppose I should next try an italian or polish somethingorother.

As I already explained, as a Westsider who rarely makes it to the Isthmus, it's not exactly convenient for me to do so and, as I already noted, I'm also an asshole. As such, I'm only willing to make the drive if I know they have something I want to try, but thanks to TAsunder's research, I now know they do not. Thanks, TA!

This is the second time in recent memory I wish there was an emoticon for that tie-pulling thing Rodney Dangerfield does.

It is funny that sometimes people (not you, Prof) seem to make more effort and take more time asking us here on the Forum about when a bar opens or what burritos cost rather than calling the actual source....
