Not sure how you draw this conclusion, given that you don't know what the fuck I do for a living.

Lord forbid anyone ever audits his dept, though my guess he's smart enough to get his *real* work done around his posting addiction.

Let 'em audit. I'm about the last one in my "department" that need be worried under such a circumstance.

Mundane though it often is, my *real* work is greatly appreciated by those who know what the fuck it is, dipshit. So suck me.

All I can say is that there is a lot of love in the top 10, a LOT of love.

Is there a trick to sorting the memberlist by actual post count, and not some sort of weird decimal-by-decimal checkdigit ordering?

Spock would have beaten all of them if he hadn't been knee-capped early on.

First, stop being so defensive. It makes you look guilty as fuck. I never said I didn't appreciate what you do, and why you'd bring it up I have no idea.
That's like me telling you people appreciate what I do when you have no connection to it whatsoever.

You *really* think I would bring it up if I didn't know?
Please.
This is a small town. Everyone knows everyone, and in our incestious little music scene there are few secrets.
Plus you've mentioned it a couple of times here, and if I remember correctly Flanders outed you a few years ago when he said something like, "what if your supervisor knew you spent some much of the state's time posting on TDP?"

You should know better than anyone that you are never anonymous on the 'net. It's too easy to track people and find out who they really are.
Especially ppl who play in bands, register web domains with WHOIS, use the same nom de gurre when posting in forums, etc...

Remember that shit in high school about "this is going on your permanent record"?
Well this *is* your permanent record. Especially for you! For all time, or until the Isthmus's server crashes and/or the drives get wiped by a giant magnet.
For better or for worse.

Defensive? Since when is telling you to piss off and mind your own fucking life defensive? It's just good advice.

Don't you have kids to raise or something other to do than hang out someplace you profess to have such contempt for?

Yeah, and they must have been pretty good to inspire this chorus of violin-strokers in his absence.

Hah. Spock is much much much more anti-big government than I am. The gas prices discussion you allude to really started churning after Tolerator tried to suggest that I was a classic liberal who wanted to control where people lived. Once I pitched my case in free-market conservative-speak for him, everyone else got their anti-conservative hackels up. I quoted Newt Gingrich in order to make a point for a conservative, and that seemd to set everybody off.

Everyone should take a page from the no asshole rule:
"Speak as if you are sure you are right, listen as if you are sure you are wrong."

Ned Flanders: 7,004 posts over 2155 days
Henry Vilas: 6,697 posts over 1707 days
Paco: 6,568 posts over 2101 days

Blunt: 5,931 posts
Daisy: 5,796 posts
white_rabbit: 5,652 posts
Prof. Wagstaff: 5,603 posts
jammybastard: 4,435 posts

Some comments: I've met everyone on that list except Ned and Wags and most are just as prolific verbally as they are with their keyboards. They're also quite personable.

Were any of them sober?
