Used Bicycles & Bike Parts

Postby MadMind » Wed May 09, 2007 5:02 pm

Do any bicycle shops in town pay cash for used bikes or bike parts?

Ask Roger Charly. He'll take it off your hands for a few bucks. Then check to see what he resells it for at his Budget Bicycle specialty store. You might be amazed at how much it is worth.

No idea, but I have a 10 speed Schwinn racer, circa 1979, myself...baby blue, mint condition, if anyone is interested...

ways to get money for it:

Madison Stuff Exchange if you want less than $100
craig's list
notice at UW or Eagle Hts or other bicycle-friendly area
notice at your local co-op or grocery

Best to not want too much for it, but anything that is functional can be sold for $25-50. Or you could give it to someone as a gift. Maybe someone who is compaining about gas prices or needs a bit of exercise or fun in his/her life.

Don't just stick it out with the garbage. At the very least, give it away. There are always people looking for parts. I'm not enough of a mechanic to be in that category.
