On this occasion: The Top Ten

Postby jjoyce » Tue May 08, 2007 2:06 pm

Sure, there are many top tens, but there is only one The Top Ten:

Chuck_Schick: 10,000 posts over 1999 days
jjoyce: 7,466 posts over 2212 days
Ned Flanders: 7,004 posts over 2155 days
Henry Vilas: 6,697 posts over 1707 days
Paco: 6,568 posts over 2101 days

Blunt: 5,931 posts
Daisy: 5,796 posts
white_rabbit: 5,652 posts
Prof. Wagstaff: 5,603 posts
jammybastard: 4,435 posts

Some comments: I've met everyone on that list except Ned and Wags and most are just as prolific verbally as they are with their keyboards. They're also quite personable.

Daisy sprinted out to 5,000 with ease during the time he lived in Madison and compiled a gaudy posts-per-day stat, along with, at one time, owning over 10% of this board's posts. For a long time Zsa Zsa held the only female spot in The Top Ten, but her 1,000-some posts are pretty paltry, at this point (knowing she compiled almost all of them in like five months is wild to consider).

At this point, the most prolific woman on Forum is snoqueen, who is in twelfth place with 3,783 posts. I fear she's abandoned us, however, and will fade fast. Most of our active women appear to be often too distracted by real life (Cattyr, Ducatista, Brenda Konkel, Nickle & Dimed) to participate fully here.

I've been pretty much gone from here, but strangely enough I logged in this afternoon from MATC and found this topic. You're right -- real life has taken up much of my time since September, but I see plenty of good new writers are filling in just fine. Change is good and so is the Forum.

I'm working on a big project I may put up on Google Earth or Second Life soon, though! I'll post a link if I finish it in time. I've fallen in love with 3-D modeling.

And on this occasion, a rare emoticon from Yours Truly:

Damn, Sister, when you say "big project," you're not fucking around, I guess.

We could have collectively cured cancer if we would have spent as much time on that project.

But I don't think it would have been as fulfilling

I don't know, Ned. Despite my best efforts, you're still plaguing this forum.

I'd pad my count with a facile reply to this discussion, but that would be beneath me.

Damn. We've got to meet soon, Jason, 'cuz I really don't like being in any group reserved solely for me and Stupid Flanders.

P.S. I've always suspected that I was one better than jammybastard. Now I know. Thank you.

I don't know about the other Foronelles, but I'm usually too drunk to post.

Hey, that was post 2222 for me. Cool. Or maybe I'm seeing double. 22? 1111?

What a twat. Gotta get a dig in, and you don't even have the courage to read my posts.
I guess you have to take what you can get though.

High post count means the following:
you are your own boss (me), you're boss doesn't know how much time and money you are wasting by posting here (Chuck), or that you are paid to be here (Jason). If you don't fit that category IMHO you are just pathetic for wasting so much time here.

Chuck's got the best deal of anyone. Lord forbid anyone ever audits his dept, though my guess he's smart enough to get his *real* work done around his posting addiction.
I had the same kind of deal my first couple of years on the DPF hence my even being included in the top 10. Frankly I'm embarassed to be on the list.
This is probably the least enjoyable place to *hang out* on the 'net. Lots of bile, very little substance.

Am I really the first one to say that I'm aiming for quality over quantity?

*Aiming*, I said. I am often a poor aim.
