my cat needs a haircut

Postby bigdumbgirl » Thu Mar 29, 2007 12:39 pm

Where can I take my long-haired mankitty to get a shornin' before the warm weather comes back? Last summer I took him to the groomer at my vet but I wasn't too happy with the results.

Any recommendations?

Just do it yourself with a loud electric hair razor. Cats love to get their hair cut, especially their cumbersome whiskers. Simply hold the grateful cat on your lap and shave 'em everywhere you can reach. Make sure to bring their old fur up to your nose and inhale deeply & rub it into your eyes. Then, if you wanna go the extra mile for your feline friend, slather him up with shaving cream and go to to town with a disposable razor.

Doesn't Art Paul have a song about his cat getting a haircut or something? Perhaps he can make a recommendation.

My sister-in-law had a white Ermine, named Cleo, who got badly matted. Cleo seemed to appreciate a brush and a trim, because her mistress had neglected her. She laid on my tummy and purred, when I had the cramps.

If you're going to do it yourself, go to the bathroom nonchalantly. Set it up. Walk by the cat, nonchalantly,(don't even think about what you're going to do, or look at the cat, because they're mind readers, and they'll run.) Just as you're passing, grab 'em!

We just took our long hair critter Blackie aka Pee Pee to Petsmart east for a lion cut. She loves it.
