How the hell does Red Letter drag anything down?
Several comments sound lie simple parrotting of Puritanical evangelical missionary babble.
Since when has Red Letter been tied to anything horrible in that area?
Prostitution is way down (haha) since years ago because of security.
More toots that one can be found on the South and far west sides.
Do you realize that half the people you know shop at Red Letter (though the number is down now because of the internet...)?

I always hear this crap but I don't see how a place that sells midgets having sex to consenting adult hurts anyone.

I also think these are worse than red letter. There's seven if I'm counting right, in a 1/2 mile area, six of em within four blocks. Nothing says "we don't give a shit about this area" quite like not putting a limit on the number of these parasites we let in. Honestly, I don't even notice red letter, maybe because it's been there so long. A smaller sign would be nice.

I agree completely. I regret bringing Red Letter into this discussion because, really, it was just a goof. But there's something truly morally wrong about the manipulation and exploitation that cash advance/payday loan/moneychangers bring upon their victims.

Now that I can get behind. It's just slightly gaudy. I don't have a moral objection to RLN at all, just an aesthetic one.

I am truly sorry to have disparaged your favorite dirty book store. Wasn't expecting that level of arousal.

You know, if you got yourself an auto title loan or a payroll advance loan, you could buy yourself a big bushel-basket full o' pornos.

Is a high-interest loan really worse than no loan at all?

Anyone know if there's a grocery store, in the future over there?

Not to keep bringing the thread back to this, and I'll try to keep my arousal in check, but other than the huge sign I don't understand the big deal with RLN or any porn shop. They seem to attract more attention than the other two types of adult entertainment, that are a level or two above RLN, operating in the city. God forbid someone is selling Swank magazine on E wash but you never hear a peep about the two "bath houses". I think I understand why the city overlooks them, but why do citizens groups band together over bookstores, but never over these other places?

RLN is not well liked by the neighborhood. There are the continuous problems with the sex workers and people looking for sex workers.

Women don't like cars pulling up to them as they try to walk down street.

I wonder if their sex workers have to sign contracts like these?

This I understand. I'm only a few blocks away, but it must be far enough that I don't see any of that.
