Be Kind Rewind

Postby crevice beatle » Sat Jul 05, 2008 12:34 am

Just received this little gem off my netflix queue -

rarely before have i seen a movie with such random, absurd, all over the map premises, mashed together in what seems to be a "make it up as we go" fashion; and yet capable of getting me caught up in the fun of it all.
i'm not sure how well this was received by critics and/or audiences - while not being a supremely memorable film, it is still well worth the rental.

Agreed! I loved it, even as random as it was!

Definitely agree with your positive accolades, but I thought it dragged a bit in the third act. Probably wouldn't have been as positive of an experience if I paid full price at the theater. I think it got mediocre reviews (B- average maybe).

i was blown away by science of sleep and primed to love it but alas i was mildly disappointed. i love me some jack black but not so much in this movie. i thought it just kinda petered out.
highlights for me were winning performances by mos def and danny glover.
