Palindromes

Postby meowzamusic » Wed Mar 12, 2008 10:11 pm

Anyone else even heard of this one? I hit imdb after watching it and found that I'd seen (and enjoyed) two of director Todd Solondz' other films: Welcome to the Dollhouse and Happiness. This film was easily as fucked up as Happiness but not really as perverted. The protagonist is played variously by several women of various ages and ethnicities and it was sort of funny but also kind of stupid. It reminded of me of many really bad movies that I couldn't stop watching.

I've seen palindromes a couple of times -
this movie is one of those rare ones that i liked the first time and than upon seeing it again, not so much - in fact, i had a hard time figuring out what i enjoyed so much the first time to sit through it again. usually, it works the other way around where i don't quite "get" a film and then open up to it after a few viewings.
i did like the multiple actresses for one character concept though.
overall, not horrible, but i think Welcome to the Dollhouse and Happiness were much better.

Cool idea.
But I liked the cover best.
