[edit: I just found I was featured for todays madison snapz: http://www.thedailypage.com/daily/artic ... icle=18642 ]
Tim Browning, an artist participating in the BLINK Project, installed painted plywood penguins on ice on Lake Monona. BLINK is funded by the Madison Arts Commission. As http://www.dane101.com/arts/2007/12/18/madison_arts_commission_announces_blink announced on Dane101</a>, BLINK is a collection of temporary winter public arts project that will be showing up around Madison. I ran into him while taking pictures of the penguins today (Thursday, January 3). He told me these penguins were heading to Iowa because the candidates will never come to Wisconsin. He said that they were sarcastic penguins which was why they were on our lake.
Tim Browning was also part of the group who installed the Statue of Liberty on Lake Monona every year.
When I ran into him, he was about to install some whales. I did not get the story about the whales but I wish I had.
The photos were taken with Casio EXILIM Z700
Exposure: 0.006 sec (1/160)
Focal Length: 7.6 mm
My photo's of this can be viewed at:
I think this is a really cool project and I can not wait to see other projects from the Madison Arts Commission!
Theater, Dance, Visual Arts, Music That Doesn't Rawk, Overture issues, etc.
