Is a dedicated device better than vga for netflix?

Postby Hidefman » Mon Nov 16, 2009 8:26 pm

I just discovered that I can stream netflix using the VGA input on my Sony Bravia. The picture doesn't seem to me to be as good as I would have expected, so I'm considering going either with a Roku or possibly a blue ray player with netflix capability. Would these devices do a significantly better job with netflix than my VGA set to 1080, or is the lack of definition inherent in the netflix stream, itself?

I just started streaming Netflix rom the PS3 vIA HDMI. Netflix streaming just ins't up to snuff yet. Even the ones labeled HD look pretty sad on a big screen.
