Insomniacs thread

Postby PaleoLiberal » Sat Apr 15, 2017 4:45 am

A sick kid woke me up.
Now I'm trying to do something important, and I can't get the web site working.
Blah.

Post here if you are awake at an ungodly hour.

It's only 6:57, but to some people I know this is an ungodly hour.

It's a beautiful morning. Almost warm outside.

So, does this mean that atheists can post here no matter what time it is?

Speaking of insomniacs, Dave Attell was in Madison recently at the Comedy Club.

I go to bed near midnight. For some mysterious reason, I wake up at 3 or 4 AM. I found going to the couch, turning on some news show (CBS Early Morning) or some old show, and lying down, makes me sleep. Sitting at the computer is too stimulating. I should grab some light reading. As a kid, I'd fall asleep reading.

Hi, sno!

I have lots of sleep issues that contribute to various amounts of insomnia, but I couldn't be happier about my current one: I haven't smoked a cigarette since about 11:30 Wednesday night. Woo-hoo! I'm not foolish enough to say I've actually quit only three days in but hey, one day at a time, right?

In O'Hare now after a red eye waiting a few hours for a flight home.

Forced insomnia

I'm rooting for you. I always thought that if I could quit for a whole day, I could quit forever. That day was September 13, 1977.

You could start another thread alongside your music one: the quit-smoking chronicle. You get to gripe or brag, and we'll be encouraging and/or strict, as needed.

Go for it. Who wants to end up sick?

I bet that there is probably good music to quit smoking by, but I can't think of it offhand.

Two Lennon songs come to mind:
"I'm so tired"
"Cold turkey"

but I don't know if either of those would actually help the process.

I would think so. To some of use early risers the predawn morning is our quiet time.
If I did believe in a god - it would be my godly hour.
I love to welcome the sun as it raises...
