Edison Electric Company has documented the historic electrification of southern California in about 70,000 photographs. Edison has donated/loaned these images to the Huntington Museum, who has put some of them online (click on a category).
For me it is fun to look through sdome of the old images and reminisce the 40s and 50s of my childhood and teens. A couple examples with some nostalgia for me.
I remember when gas was 27 cents a gallon, because it was about that price when I was first old enough to drive.
One of my first jobs as a teen was setting pins at the bowling alley in Whitewater. On my breaks I could enjoy a hot dog for 20 cents or a hamburger for a quarter.
Any you like, or find nostalgic post them.
