Masked motorcyclists

Postby narcoleptish » Mon Apr 09, 2012 2:10 pm

I just saw my third one in 3 weeks. Guys on motorcycles with fully masked faces, one with a ski mask and two with bandanas, dark shades over the eyes.

What the fuck? The hoodie controversy isn't enough for these guys, they've gotta go full bandit?

Don't give me that "just staying warm" shit. The days I've seen them have been quite mild. If any of you are reading this, some day you're gonna be just like me and the spandex, you'll look back and say, "what the fuck was I thinking?"

At least they had the good sense to prevent identification?

Yup, if you wear an open face helmet or no helmet. I've been hit on the neck by June Bugs on the highway and it fuckin' hurts! I wear full face helmets and proper leathers when I ride so the exposed skin is minimal even with a fairing.

Is the concept of wind chill foreign to you? If its 30F outside and you're traveling at 35-40 mph, it's chilly. The masks provide protection from sun, wind, bugs, cold, and road slop, I know people that wear them in the middle of summer.

And why do you assume they're guys?

I've been alive, and driving motorcycles, for a long time and this just happens to be the first time I've seen this particular look and it's much more bank robber than bundled up. It was 56 degrees today and he wasn't taking a bead on the northern plains, he was on fucking Atwood ave and wearing a t-shirt so I'm guessing this is more of an image thing.

Agreed. I've seen it repeatedly this year, even on warm days.

who knows what goes through their heads, they're riding Harleys. Maybe it was a member of the Sons of Anarchy and he didn't want to get shot rolling past the Wisco. I know the CC Riders moved, but maybe he didn't.

Seeing what a paranoid freak you are makes me grateful that you don't see me wearing my ski mask when I wear it while bicycling on cold days or when I wear it while X-Country skiing.
And if you carry a gun, leave it at home. OK? I don't want to get shot.

I'm just grateful that I don't see you at all.

I didn't say that I thought these people were actually criminals, my point was just that they look stupid in what I believe were non-weather-related costumes.

And you needn't worry about my unarmed self while you're out recreating in your mask, hiding those bad genetics under the guise of staying warm.

Are you the Vader mask guy? If you are, are you horribly disfigured or something like that under there?
