Moving two pieces furniture across country

Postby cute hat » Thu Mar 29, 2012 9:20 am

Hello,
I have two large pieces of fragile antique furniture (think curved glass) I would like to ship to my brother in San Diego. Has anyone ever done this before? Any idea how much it would cost or recommendations on shipping companies?

Unless you want to use a fine arts shipper and pay a few thousand dollars, you might try Reynolds transport. They'll pack and ship and should be responsible for any damage. Don't know how much that will cost, but no options are gonna be cheap.

I'll give Reynolds a try. They're antiques inherited from my mother, worth in the $1,000-$2,000 range, I'm guessing. They should gone to my brother. Maybe I should tell him to come out here and get 'em!

Or maybe he'd like a visit from you.

Huh. Too bad it isn't a bit north of San Diego, like the San Jose area. I'm driving a U-Haul out there in mid-June with whatever doesn't sell in my yard sales next week. Could you look at shipping from San Jose or Gilroy down to San Diego?

Do you know the way to San Jose?
