Couples Massage?

Postby Carlo » Thu Dec 13, 2007 4:27 pm

So my wife has telegraphed her desire for a professional massage as a holiday gift. "Better yet, she says, let's do a couples massage!" Fine by me--we got ourselves one of these during a trip to Santa Fe a couple of years ago (as an aside, this was a very cool spa that offered a very odd facial treatment comprised of processed nightingale droppings. We opted not to avail ourselves of that particular service...) Now, there are a number of day spas in the area that advertise on their websites that they offer couples massages at varying costs and with varying included amenities. Has anyone had any experience with these and would care to make a recommendation? The spas currently under consideration are: Aniu (which is the craziest expensive-est of the bunch), Cameo Day Spa, and Oasis Day Spa (inside Princeton Club West). Kneaded Relief and Rejuvenation don't advertise that they offer a couples package, but maybe they actually do-- I don't know-- but, still, I'd be interested in your anecdotal recommendations. Any insight would be much appreciated!

I'm a regular at Kneaded Relief and they do couples massages in a special "suite" room that overlooks the prairie behind the building they are in. I've always had a wonderful massages from the folks there. They can put together different kinds of services into a package, so you might want to give them a call and see what they offer for couples.

Turk: Couples therapy is killing me.
Todd: I don't know how you do it! Make love with your lady in front of some old dude who's filming you?
Turk: That's not couples therapy Todd.
Todd: Then what did I do?
Turk: You did amateur porn!
Todd: Sweet!

If it has "Spa" in the title, think of it as a glorfied nail parlor. (Unless, of course, they have an olympic sized pool filled with naturally occurring geothermally heated water from a source on the premises. (It's just not right if they're pouring microwaved Evian into your bathtub.)

I had a massage at Oasis and it was terrible. Rejuvenation Spa has great therapists (I do believe they offer couples packages) and so does Kneaded Relief.
