Forons Named My Baby

Postby Oprah » Tue Aug 28, 2007 1:38 pm

Steadman and I are expecting early next year. What are your favorite names, say, top three for boys and top three for girls?

I don't have any name suggestions, but I'd like to congratulate you on the best thread title ever.

It would also make a fine band name!

I once named my school of neon Tetras after the 8 Devils of Kimon.

1) BDWG
2) Floyd
3) blunt

For a girl:

1) Daisy
2) snoqueen

Careful. (That's a caution, not a name suggestion)

Points to keep in mind:

1. No matter how totally cool the name you pick is, your period of infatuation with that name won't last that long, and soon enough it will just be: the kid's name.

2. No matter how totally cool the name you pick is, your kid will go through a period during which they will hate you for giving it to them. However, this period, too, won't last that long (if you're lucky).

3. In contrast to the above, the period during which you will be asked "how did you come up with that name?" will last for years, if not decades. Are you really ready to make an explanation about TDPF be part of your personal narrative for the rest of your life? (Of course, you can always lie ...)

Henry if it's a boy. Vilas for a girl. Of course, I am somewhat biased with my suggestions.

Let's just say "Taylor", that way you can start embroidering stuff now without any news from the plumber.

I thought you might be partial to Quincy.
