Barbers

Postby boston_jeff » Wed May 23, 2007 1:26 pm

Hey, I usually shave my head, but the wife wants me to keep what little hair I have (we go through this every 9 months or so). At this point, it needs to be trimmed, I'm cultivating a semi-skullet.

Where is a good barber in this town? Don't need a salon, but don't want the Supercuts or an old man crewcut joint either. The place I used to go to was 13 bucks plus tip, mostly served University employees and students. Any ideas?

Meadowood Barber shop in the Meadowood shopping center (Whitney and Raymond). I just started the shaved head thing myself for summer. $14 plus tip.

Depends on what you are looking for.

Old news, I know, but still the first thing that comes to my mind with that place.

Atwood barber shop. Right next to wilson's bar. $13, walk ins only, discount for veterans. I think Bev is her name, and she is a veteran of the state street barber shop (university barbershop ??) She is the real deal! Go there.

I've seen this little gadget on ebay, and the best thing about it is there are no pesky recurring charges. Once you covered the initial overhead charges of the unit, your haircuts are in the free.

Do you need to show your DD-214?

Um.... I think she just takes your word for it. I don't get a discount.

Actually, I don't either. When I retired a year ago, I fired my barber. Letting my freak flag fly.
