What TV world would you inhabit?

Postby narcoleptish » Fri Feb 23, 2007 5:08 pm

We need a friday fluff thread.

If you had to live your life among the characters and surroundings of a television show, past or present, what would it be?

I think I'm going with "Hart to Hart". Lots of excitement, the Harts always seemed to get along, lot of cash floating around.

Why ... Fantasy Island, of course.

Was that a thread-killer?

Red Shoe Diaries. Mmmm, baby.

Either that, or WKRP. "As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly."

Jesus, TDP, I was gonna say WKRP. And right after that, I was gonna say "booger."

My secret plan? While everyone is going ga-ga over Jennifer, Bailey is a sitting duck. She was always the real hottie in my book.

If you're a woman, you need not read any further. I'm about to go balls-out masculine.

What kind of self respecting man in this day-in-age of (highly entertaining) trash "reality" TV would pick any other "reality" TV show other than the "Elimidate" series to inhabit? That's the kind of TV fiction world I'd dream to be a part of. The producers pick the hottest, poorest decision making, trashiest, and tightest cloths wearing chicks who exhibit little to no self worth around the dudes they are competing over. I'm all over that!

Women, I know you just read the above.

a friend of mine who used to work in the minneapolis tv production world told me that when they filmed elimadate up there, there would be a PA assigned to every girl who was to participate in the night of debauchery. their job consisted of this: pick up the girl, get her drunk, make sure she does stupid things, and finally take her home when she got eliminated. hmmm, whatever are you to do with a drunk, rejected girl that you have to take home at the end of the night?

Likewise. Chasing Jenifer would be stupid. Baily was the hottie.

When the Rockford Files were on, I lived with a lawyer GF named Barbie and got chased around by thugs too often. The leader of a garage band that practiced at my home said he was going to Hollywood to be in the TV biz.

Jeff Reno, went on to produce and write Duckman, Moonlighting, Night Court, Meet Joe Black, and a bunch of stuff.

The dispatchers at my cab company call me "X-File."

I always had a thing for the townhouse occupied by Nero Wolf. The study was my favorite, followed closely by the kitchen and the roof-top garden.

I knew a heroin addict who wrote for Taxi and Private Benjamin, his name was Larry.

Funny guy. I can't tell you how much I should have believed, yet he told good stories.
