There is a tendency for people on both the left and the right to find a nut job on the other side and say "This is what that side is like!"
I think Roy might've been guilty of that once or twice. Not sure, but be careful before casting stones.
As for me, if anyone thinks I am typical of what so-called Liberals are like these days, they have more problems than I can fix.
Personally, in my own humble opinion, and these are my own thoughts, not anyone else's, and this is not saying YOU or anyone else thinks this way, I think it is indicative of an entire demographic that someone of some standing in their particular community, can publicly announce this wish upon another demographic:
you are bringing upon you and your children and your children’s children curses like you have never seen.
Eyeah. I'm not painting the Christian right in any other light but the one they've put themselves in.
Bakker agreed, declaring that “God has chosen” Trump.
And the only Christian denouncing that is Good Ol Roy here, AFTER I asked him to do it. Not before. He wasn't even bothered by it till somebody else pointed it out, which means all the other Chistians, Bakker's entire audience, thinks that was just a fine thing to say.
THAT is a stone I wish to cast. They don't give a shit if another Christian curses anybody. They believe in the power of their deity, so it's not like they're saying this is just bullshit.
They are fine with one of their own - a high ranking Christian - using their god's power to hurt generations of people who's ancestor thought the wrong things. And another higher ranking Christian agreeing with her, which means he just told his congregation to curse a group of people and their children and their children's children.
I think that tells us what the Christian right is now. I don't think it's an isolated incident, this is what a whole lot of them are thinking. I will admit it's not all Christians, but enough to say this is how a very, very large group thinks.
