The Hillary Clinton for President Thread

Postby fisticuffs » Mon Apr 13, 2015 12:58 pm

I don't have anything, just didn't want to have to read Ned's drivel thread title for the next 19 months.
In November 2016 I am going to tally up the number of times "Vince", "Foster", and "Bubba" appear in this thread. Then we will divide that by the number of .gif files and have that many drinks to celebrate President Clinton's inauguration.

It is interesting, but not in the way sir Ned thinks. I recall that 6 different agencies investigated Foster's death. All ruled it a suicide. But beyond that, House Rs spent $59 million investigating the Clintons, and found zero evidence of any crimes committed. There's no way "W" could survive an investigation like that.

The Republican freakout is telling. I sense the Republicans' desperation. It's as if they know: it's over for them.

Ned's listing resorts to the black helicopter anti-Clinton strategy of the 1990s, which was, after all, the precursor of Republican Obama Derangement Syndrome. Although the Republican candidates are going to claim they want to take the country forward with a new generation of candidates, they are going to demonstrate daily that they are fixated on Hillary and on the past. They can't help themselves. It's their constant refrain: "take our country back." Yes, indeed, back to the Middle Ages. Back from that n-word in the White House. Democrats should respond: "Let's take our country forward!"

The Republican strategy may work for the scared and racist sliver of the population that calls themselves Republican. For the rest of us, we'd like to leave all that evil to the Medieval Age, and move courageously forward.

Meanwhile, as the Republicans howl to the corporate and righty media about HILLARY, Hillary is speaking to REAL PEOPLE and listening to their ideas and concerns about THE FUTURE. Ignoring the clown car might be the thing they hate the most. She's never going to have the corporate and righty media on her side. She never has. Ignore them, and listen to the people.

Republicans know they have nothing. They have no new ideas. They have a clown car full of clowns in suits and ties taking us back in time, not to any future the real people want.

I'm not sure that Republicans are "freaking out" either, but the notion that they don't take Hillary Clinton seriously is pretty silly. Then again, that's par for the course from Sandi.

I won't be voting for Hillary in the primary, and I can say that with complete confidence without even knowing any other Democratic candidates. The reason I won't vote for Hillary isn't because she murdered Vince Foster or Chris Stevens, it's because she's not actually a liberal, which is more of a selling point than a criticism for most voters.

Hillary currently bests her potential rivals by 10+ points in every recent poll except Fox's, which is odd because you can say what you want about Fox, but they tend to be honest in their polling. In this case they're an outlier, perhaps they've turned over a new leaf and decided to add lies and misinformation to their polling division as well.

Anyhoo... none of the current crop of Republican challengers will be able to best Hillary, but there's plenty of room in the clown car, so they may manage to collar a contender before the primaries are over. Look for a safe bet, a corporatist like Mitt Romney who can not only cash checks, but can write them too. Despite Democratic enthusiasm, Hillary isn't a guaranteed win, though her status as the first real contender of the female persuasion will make her a tough out, even if Barack Obama put the nails to a similar notion in 2008.

Watch for Hillary Clinton to do some serious distancing of herself from Obama over the next few months. Liberals are already locked on to the Democratic candidate, moderates undulate on Obama and a few Republicans could be swayed by a popular Southern Democrat with name recognition and pedigree, especially if Ted Cruz finds any success in the Republican primary (He's a Mexican, you know, or maybe a Cuban, but what's the difference?).

On the contrary, I take Hillary very seriously. Of all the Dem possibilities, she would be my choice ( if I had to vote for a Dem ). Partially because she has done a lot for VETS.
