Someone is talking about fixing the VRA

It will be interesting to see what fix ends up being put in place and how soon.

Jim Sensenbrenner is as conservative as they come, but he's old-school and not in step with the current crop of wingnuts. It'll also be interesting to see how he's treated for actually representing and defending traditional conservative ideals instead of demagoguery.

With all the talk about shutting down the government, you may have forgotten about all the effort to shut down democracy. But not Eric Holder and his jack-booted thugs:

In the North Carolina lawsuit, the person said, the government will challenge requirements in state law that eliminate the first seven days of early voting opportunities and eliminate same-day voter registration during the early voting period. Same-day registration allows voters to cast a ballot immediately after presenting elections officials with proof of their name and home address.
