Sandi, you've quoted Monckton's criticisms of Cook's work, but now claim that his argument doesn't matter.
Sandi wrote:That message is that Cook's study is bogus BS.
Perhaps you could clarify YOUR specific criticisms of Cook's paper?

Then why did you post his arguments?

And you used BULLETS! That usually means really important stuff.

Well hell. Now all I've got is "Cooke's paper is bullshit, so there!" for an argument. Because the only reasons you've given that it's bullshit is a paper from a guy who doesn't matter.

If you'd only said that when you posted it, I wouldn't have spent so much time on it. You know, like if you had prefaced it with "This stuff below doesn't matter" then we would all have known from the start.

Missing from the debate was any discussion of climate change. Crowley claims she wanted to ask a question about that, but didn't have time.

Wasn't missing, it is a non-issue. Even if it was, there is little to be done about it ( effectively ) without spending trillions more.

"Non-issue" or "strong possibility"?
Sounds like denial to me.

Cook's paper is bogus, because Monckton said some stuff. But it doesn't matter that Monckton is always wrong, or that he is wrong in this instance. There are other arguments. Probably.

Logic.

Well... Technically he isn't always wrong. He did for example get it right that GMOs are safe for human consumption, and a few other points as well.

The problem lies with him using faulty reasoning/evidence (in the case of GMOs being safe) or him stretching a fact beyond what it is capable of being used for or can support (for example CO2 fertilization). This is a consistent pattern when he talks about environmental issues, very few times does he actually have a point.

To quote myself from the conclusion:
"Because of this I don’t see Monckton as a reliable source for information. The very basic mistakes he often makes can, in my opinion, be used to outright dismiss anything he says. I would not recommend accepting anything as true without some due diligence and fact-checking."

U.N. climate change report points blame at humans

Climate scientists are 95% confident -- that is to say, surer than ever -- that humans are responsible for at least "half of the observed increase in global average surface temperatures since the 1950s."

The deniers will say: but, but, but...

Careful there. Sandi doesn't like it when people attack the messenger instead of the message.

Right Sandi? That's bad, right?

Now, now. The UN has its strengths: embezzlement, cronyism, hookers, byzantine bureaucratic operation....

Careful, there, Nedders--you seem to have confused the UN and the GOP.

How do you figure?

Ned didn't say anything about GAY hookers.

You just assumed that, and jumped to the obvious conclusion that it was about the GOP.
