City streets around the Capitol will start to close as early as 8 a.m. Sunday, with the 100 and 200 blocks of Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. the first to shut down, according to Tom Mohr of city traffic engineering. By 11 a.m. Sunday, Main Street, Doty Street and Wilson Street, from Carroll Street to Pinckney Street, will also be closed. Starting at 3 a.m. the following streets will be closed:

The Capitol Square
The 100 blocks of West Washington Avenue, State Street, Wisconsin Avenue and East Washington Avenue, and the 100 and 200 blocks of South Pinckney Street
The 200 block of South Carroll Street
West Wilson Street between Carroll and Hamilton streets
Inbound West Wilson Street between Broom Street and Henry Street

The city is providing special event parking at all city of Madison parking ramps and the gated area of the Brayton Lot. The $5 fee must be paid in cash upon entry. The Government East garage at 215 S. Pinckney St. and the Brayton Lot at 1 S. Butler St. will be open only to people with disabilities.

What's up with you badgers?

I thought that Wisconsin was supposed to be a lock for our guy and now he is losing? How can that be?

I know, the polls show him even but if that is all the better he can do, I see him losing.

You all are not pulling your weight. I hope that everyone in this forum has gone out and voted at least once by now.

If Obama loses, I am going to be really pissed at Wisconsin.

It isn't very close at all. Obama leads Romney 51% to 43% in Wisconsin in new Marquette poll. The survey of 1,243 likely voters in Wisconsin was taken last Thursday, Oct 25 through Sunday, Oct 28. Obama has been ahead in Wisconsin for a long time. He's not gonna lose here.

Spoken like a true conservative. Liberals are against voter fraud just as much if not more so than conservatives. We just happen to be smart enough to understand that Voter ID isn't the answer and we don't want to disenfranchise voters -- not to mention that the law would be unconstitutional.

I don't think polls matter much. The repubs could win with election fraud, as we've seen many times in the last decade.

Because that's what John would do if he could vote.

I will now predict. Regardless of the percentage by which either candidate wins:

If Obama wins, John Henry will holler to the rooftops that there was voter fraud, he won by too small a margin, he doesn't have a mandate, he should be impeached, Congress needs to reign him in through judicious use of filibuster, he was born in Kenya, we should see his college, high school, middle school, AND grade school transcripts, his passport, and eyewitness reports from the medical staff present at his birth.

If Romney wins, he has a mandate, the people have spoken, a real patriot would shut the hell up and give the guy a chance, and those damned activists in Congress should be shot.

So why is he so worried?

Why is he going to Madison Monday?

Why not some state that is at then margins that he might be able to change from lose to win?

Could you explain why you think I am a "conservative"?

I see conservatives, in general, as just as horrible as progressives.

I consider myself a liberal (A/K/A classical liberal, libertarian, minarchist etc). Look at my postings here. I think I have been pretty consistent in expressing that viewpoint.

What have I done to deserve the epithet "conservative"? Would a conservative support Obama? Will a conservative be disappointed if he loses?

It's pretty much a consensus that Wisconsin leans toward Obama but it's a slight margin and the Koch machine is throwing millions of dollars at the state.

To compensate, Obama is paying more attention to us than he usually does.

This infuriates John because he doesn't like the idea that one more visit could derail all that money. So he tries to compensate with all that gloom and doom "Well jeez. Things ain't going so good are they? You guys better go with voter fraud" crap.

I wish I could say I'll be glad when this is over but it's obvious John and all his little Foxy Sean Hannity friends will just shift into obstruction mode. Anything the President wants, they'll be against, no other yardstick applied.

Huh?

I think you have me confused with someone else.

Only thing you are even close on above is 1) It would be nice to know more about Obama and 2) IF (and it is a big question mark at this point) he denied support to the guys in Bhengazi he probably should be impeached. At this point I have no idea if he did or not. The truth will out eventually one way or the other.
If Romney wins, he has a mandate, the people have spoken, a real patriot would shut the hell up and give the guy a chance, and those damned activists in Congress should be shot.

Not me.

I am strongly supportive of Obama. My reasons may differ from yours but our end goal, 2nd term for Obie, is identical.

If Romney wins we, the US, are totally screwed.

Yeah.

Like the three budgets that Obama submitted that got not a single vote in favor? Not one repo nor one demmie voted in favor of any of them.

So we have been operating without a budget for most of Obama's presidency.

I fail to see how that is Constitutional.

And yet we keep hearing how the Repos are the National Socialists of the 21st century.

Fuck you, dick. You're lying through your conservative Republican teeth. I'm tired of your pretense and bullshit. I know I can't do anything about it but I sure as hell can call you on it.

How's that for name calling?

Thanks for finding those numbers, HawkHead. My analysis of them leads me to my prediction for the 2012 Presidential election:

Romney - 1,436,054 ✔

That's right: with none of the precincts reporting, I am calling Wisconsin for Romney. Please make a note.
