America has fulfilled it's promise. We have elected a president based upon the content of his character, not based upon the color of his skin.

This morning I feel so proud of my fellow countrymen. Let's do it folks, we need to heal this nation and this world.

What a delight to wake up the morning after an election feeling great. I can't help smiling this morning. Not only did he win, but he won big, really big. And Sarah Palin can slink her way back to Alaska. A good day, indeed.

Totally! It's been a while since I've felt like this after an election.

McCain's concession speech was gracious and a bit inspiring. I could have done without the booing from the crowd, though I guess after a battle like that, it is to be expected. Does that usually happen?

I might actually watch the inauguration this year.

If you go by the antiquated electoral college (and we do - unfortunately), yes. But it was 52% Obama / 47% McCain in the popular vote - in other words, a lot (almost half) of the voters voted for the other guy.

Without her in the picture, it might have been a different outcome. I was leaning toward Obama when McCain announced Palin as his VP - once that happened, I was Obama's bitch.

It's a great day for us as a nation, not only here, but around the world. Yet another historic event to write in the baby book. Let's hope that it's looked on with the same enthusiasm in 20 years.

Peace.

As a consolation prize, the Minnesota wing of our Insane Troll Posse gets to cling (bitterly!) to Norm Coleman for another six years. (Although I can't imagine Norm's heart being in it without being able to rubber-stamp Bush's agenda.)

Meanwhile, poor Al Franken has to go back to his full-time job mocking the right through a series of bestselling books.
