Confessions of a Torturer

Postby massimo » Mon Mar 05, 2007 2:56 am

I usually get annoyed when people post links to stories without any comments of their own to add, but I can't seem to find any words to describe how this article frustrates and disgusts me. I also get annoyed when the articles are somewhat long, but this one is worth the effort:

Chicago Reader: Confessions of a Torturer

Go on, tell me how much of a traitor this guy is, or how each and every one of these "insurgents" deserves what they're getting. Tell me that the physical and mental costs of this war are justified. Tell me that I've "forgotten." I would expect nothing less.

Dear Massimo,

1. Each and every insurgent deserves what they are getting.

2. The physical and mental costs of war are worth it.

3. You have forgotten

How's that. Can I help you with anything else?

PS. Tell me, when did the Reader become serious journalism?

This isn't about me, it's about Massimo.

Note - another leftist technique, a change of subject.

Chickenshit.

Somebody should torture your ass if it's no big deal.

Christ knows your presence here is torture on most of us. Maybe a little payback would be just the thing.

See, now this is what I'm talking about, Tolerator.

There's no shortage of self-righteous pricks who assert that disrupting a forum (which you are pretty good at, by the way) is somehow less *noble* than actually contributing to it.

It's time to take back the epithet "troll" from these bigots. I'll start:

Hell YES, I'm a TROLL, and proud of it!

Now it's your turn, Tolerator. Let 'em have it!

Is this another one of those "we support the troops" stories?

This is, of course, demonstrably a lie.

Everyone on this thread is absolutely killing me. My response was only made at Massimo's stupid request. He asked for it, so I gave it to him.

However, Marvell's last post does beg the question. What does an insurgent deserve? As currently define insurgents are terrorists that target not just military and police personnel, but also innocent Men, Women and children. So what does an insurgent who maims innocent children deserve? Do they deserve our understanding? Our money? Or do they deserve a noose or a bullet?

Instead, when caught they are tortured by being made to be uncomfortable. What's worse, to be thrown into a super air conditioned room or to blow an innocent kid's arms off?

On the continuum torture is so much more human than the what the insurgents deserve.

What cocksuckers like you always forget is that two wrongs don't make a right. It doesn't matter which is WORSE - both are WRONG. By definition there is no justification for doing things that are WRONG.

Does your logic also apply to the many thousands innocents kids and adults who have died because of Bush's invasion of Iraq? You know, the disastrous war that greatly hindered eliminating those who were behind the 9-11 attacks. Isn't that the greater question?
