I've always felt the same way. It's been a good 10 years since I was in the student section and I never did have season tickets. A year or two ago a recent grad told me that they changed the seating to a first-come system similar to what they have at the football games, so while you're still sitting by the friends you came with you're not necessarily next to the same people all season long. He said this diminished the collective hivemind to an extent.

You could go with woe betide them, or woe and [some other noun] betide them. Either of those would be OK.

Hey, it's been nearly fifty years. I could have remembered it inaccurately (or maybe not).

Are you related to fennel?

Was this during the Victorian Era in England.

True, we did reach Peak Woebetide back in the late Victorian Era. But since 2000 it's been on another upswing:

What does this have to do with bicycles.

My old choir director's college team had this chant:

"There are no flies on us! There are no flies on us!

There may be flies on YOU ! But there are no flies on us!"

Best response banner: "A closed mouth gathers no flies."

(And that is one of the few remarks in this stilted category that does have relevance to biking.)

Bay sucks.

Remember, I went to Dominican. But I understand where you're coming from.

Yeah, but still. We never played them, so didn't care much about them one way or another.

Dominican never played WFB, but we used their football field for our home games.

UW has pleaded and it hasn't worked. That's why I say eject the potty-mouthed students. The Jump Around song is getting rather old and tired, so I wouldn't mind getting rid of that, too.

That's more like it. UW should have chants like that.

Shorty, how would you propose ejecting the thousands of students who shout out the offending chant? There seems to be some logistical problems with that.

How about substituting this oldie: "Rah rah ree, kick em' in the knee, rah rah rass, kick em' in the other knee!" Or is it too suggestive for you?

Judging by the sheer number of people that stick around for Jump Around then leave immediately after during the blowouts you're in the distinct minority.

My quoted chant is probably older than that. And it was posted as satire. I hope Shorty got that, even if you didn't.
