Brent Farve: Call it a career?

Postby fisticuffs » Mon Nov 22, 2010 11:37 am

So... The Vikes are all but eliminated from the playoffs, Brent isn't coming back next year (and I actually believe him), he's playing like shit, coach is on the way out, T-Jack is a free agent at the end of the year, and there doesn't seem to be anything but more misery left this year. Should Brent quit mid-season? Ride the pine while they see what they have in T-Jack? Or just take the $6Million and the beating and go out a loser? There doesn't seem to be any respectable way to finish left for Favre. It would be a blessing for him to get injured at this point. At least he'd have an honest out.

If it weren't for Schadenfavre, this would almost be sad. If the Vikings don't make a move now, with the season over and Bert arguing with Bevell, it would speak volumes of the teams lack of confidence in Tarvaris taking over the reigns. Gee, maybe they should have drafted a viable replacement last year. Or the year before. Or...

It does seem giving T-Jack some time is the only smart move for the team. That goes for anyone else employed by the Vikes. Evealuate for 2011. Firing Chilly isn't going to accomplish anything record wise but it would give you a chance to evaluate Frazier.

Boom. It's a little less Chilly in Minneapolis right now.

Nice. I figured it was 50/50 after yesterday. Who else is on the Packer's schedule that needs a good excuse to fire their coach? We could end Lovey in Chicago.

The Packers really seem to be coach-killers this season. The Falcons are 8-2, so I assume their coach's job is pretty safe.

Oh please, oh please, oh please do. And if you could take Jerry with him, so much the better.

Mike Singletary is in a state of panic.

I would like to point out out that my homeboys da Bears already beat the Packers once this season. Strange reason to fire a coach, because he wins, eh?

Perhaps, but Lovie is a strange coach.

If Favre was anything but a giant ego with legs, he would've pulled himself halfway through yesterday's joke, and retired this morning.

Agreed. And I've wished for his ouster on many occasions. But I just thought I would set the record straight is all...

I dunno. Bears drop a couple here down the stretch and potentially miss the playoffs and I'd say Lovie is done. This year was pretty much it for him at the start of the season. That D has played great but I don't think Da Bears are anything that different from what they've been. Martz is a total joke.

I can't imagine Bert wants to hang around, but there were $20 million reasons for him to come back in the first place. Also, can't believe the wife is putting out the welcome mat down in MS. If he decides his ankle "hurts" and he can't go on, there's the T-Jack/Joe Webb comedy duo to round out the year.

The "Common Man" program could be entertaining today (12N-3p):
