Me too. I know the routes in my neighborhood and on the way to work but I can already see myself this summer sitting down some evening to plan a little Saturday ride out to a path I might not have seen yet.

I like this one. It'll be interesting to see how well they keep up with the new paths.

I wanted to see the route they gave me from my house to work. It was kind of odd and one that I would have not considered taking. It did say it was about the same mileage as my current route, so it's at very least giving me different options.

I wonder if google take hills into consideration when giving what they consider an optimal route.

I don't think so because the route they mapped took me up Gorham by the lake which is not a fun hill. If they considered hills they prolly would have sent me around John Nolin. It's pretty much a hill free route for me, even though it's not the route I normally take.

If it doesn't, I'll bet it eventually does, since Google Maps already has terrain data available (click on "More").
