Where to buy Hockey equipment in the middle of summer?

Postby Henry Chinaski » Tue Jul 14, 2009 1:04 pm

Is it even possible?
Some co-workers found open ice in verona on saturdays and are all gung-ho. It's rubbed off on me but I need to get a helmet, gloves and skates.
Note:Play it again does not have anything in stock right now.
Any suggestions?

I'm a little dude, so if your 8th grader gave up/out grew his equipment, I might be interested.

Yep, seconding MS&F.

I bought my first set of gear at Jerry's Outboard Motor and Hockey Equipment in Beloit. Now THERE'S a combination *giggle*

Sounds like a onestop shop.
In northern Maine, I saw a place that specialized in Guns & Beanie Babies. Talk about another great combo.

Thanks!
Do you know if they have a "used" section? I'm not ready to part with $300 for skates.

Is Gold Medal Sports on Sherman still open? It is/was right by Hartmeyer Arena.

On the corner of North Sherman and Commercial. It's still open - but you'd hardly know it by going by the building. It looks like a place you'd go to buy porn.

MS&F used to have a used section, as that was where I purchased my own skates. Of course, that was during a year that began with 19. Still, it's a good place to start.

What about Village Pedaler? They had hockey equipment the last time I was in there - it's been years though. Are they open still?
