So, wait. Forons golf?

Postby jjoyce » Fri May 29, 2009 3:04 pm

My game has gone to hell since I reproduced, but I still play a half dozen times a summer or so. I've always wanted to pull together an event that would look like one of the following:

- After-dark, two-club tournament at Vitense chip-and-putt. Pick any two clubs, but golf bags are verboten. All the gear you can use, you must carry with you (picture the scene from Swingers at the golf course). Vitense has lights, but you still need to keep it straight or your ball will be unfindable. Post round beers available on premises, or the awards ceremony could move to any number of local watering holes (Babe's, Bennett's, Hilldale Dane, etc.)

- Nine-hole happy hour tourney (maybe scramble) at Glenway. Post-golf at the Village. 'Nuff said.

Try a worst ball scramble. Trust me, it gets pretty interesting.

I like it. Gotta use the honor system, right?

It depends. If you play a two-person scramble, the other two in your foursome always dictate which shot you have to use.

You'll be hearing a lot of: "Really nice shot. Pick it up."

I'd be interested in the Glenway thing. I'd prefer playing straight up, but playing a nine of Worst Ball would be interesting too. I imagine a lot of my shots would get used for that. Might take awhile to complete the round though.

There's always the Triple Crown challenge:

Par 3 golf, putt putt golf, then over to Babes for Golden tee golf.
