Exactly. Bandwagon fans only care about "splash" events like opening day.

No, just strolled up like an average Joe Tourist to the box office. Enjoyed the heckling, the messenger bike guy wearing the Pesky jersey in front of me, and the opposing center fielder doing the "fake butthole scratch with a middle finger" move to the hometown fans.

Sure I was being sarcastic in my post, but honestly I was damn glad to catch a game there with no planning or foresight.

Actually, if you can't get up (or inside the ballpark) for a great tradition like Opening Day, you're missing out. The smell of the grass, first sighting of the Green Monster, the bunting draped on the walls and the overhangs, the first pitch...that's one of the best baseball days of the year IMO.

I know drinking 30 beers in the parking lot, eating brats and beanbag tossing is great and all, but I prefer the actual game. The day after Opening Day is amazing too, but its just a little less special.

Ouch. It's time for Craig Counsell at 2B. Hopefully not for long...

Probably not. He's struggling with the bat and doesn't have a history of playing 2B. They did say they'd start giving him some time at 2B now in AAA in case of another injury.

We'll probably see some combination of Counsell/Hall/McGehee/Gamel manning second and third.

Too bad for Weeks and the Crew. He was really turning it on this year, at bat and with the glove.

I'm not sure if this is the case with Escobar, but they may be waiting until after June 1 to call him up, to delay his service time and right to arbitration and free agency.
