Weeks without a complaint ...

Postby minicat » Tue May 05, 2009 2:46 pm

So, the Rickie Weeks haters have been awfully quiet lately.

Yeah I like him in the 3 spot. Can I still hate on Hall?

It seems like Hall is the most likely to remain hate-onable, since he's been there for about two straight years now. Though if Hardy's doesn't wake up, the doghouse may fall on him pretty quick.

Fans seem to get irate about Kendall, too, but I've never understood that. Anyone who can't see Kendall's value to the team, especially after Johnny Useless ... err, Estrada, doesn't know what they're talking about.

I don't hate on Kendall simply because I take pride in the Brewers having the ugliest mother fucker on the planet playing for them.

Agreed. Kendall's rad in his ugliness and toughness. No batting gloves is always a plus in my book. Also, in a recent game he took a foul ball off his bare left hand. One shake of it and he was asking for a new ball from Blue.

Yeah. I'm glad he's finally coming out of it. That was a solid win last night. Now let's take down the Reds!

Did you see that performance against Arroyo last night? Ho-lee shit - the Brewers treated one of the NL's best starters like he was a human T-ball stand.

Is it time to start talking about The Big Brew Machine yet?

Kendall's great just for the odd frequency with which he and Counsell team up to get something going. They both can't hit, but when they do, they do it at the same time. I actually find Weeks' turn-around so incredible that I suspect he's on the juice.

Good effort by the Brewers, but honestly, only Bronson Arroyo's mom or agent would make the claim that he's one of the NL's best starters. He hasn't pitched very well the last few years.

Weeks looks much improved, but he's still barely above average. Here's a pretty good link for any stat geeks out there...His OPS+ is 109(100 being average). His on-base percentage is way down, but his slugging is up significantly, which certainly justifies a move to the middle of the batting order.

Yeah, the only thing that made Weeks even marginally ok last year was his walk rate, which kept his OBP afloat. They should probably move him out of the leadoff spot, since they've coached him to not take so many pitches this season.

Now that Hardy and Parra look like they're starting to come around I think I will, thanks!

In the meantime, C.U.B.S. = M.A.S.H.

Thank you, Jesus! Marvell's doomed his team's hopes again! :P

And unless your name's Mark Prior or Ben Sheets, injuries heal. But whatever, man. .5 game separates four teams in the NL Central. This is what we live for.
