Now that the Olympics are over, where will I get my daily fix of jingoism?

Jeepers Creepers Lardheppus, you could always go back to listening to your old Hayley Mills albums.

Election ads, debates, and coverage feature lots of jingoism at times.

Man, fuck China. Give me freedom. U-S-A! U-S-A!

I'm peeved the Chinese trudged out underage gymnasts. I mean, look at 'em. Get real. Internet sleuthers found official Chinese records that documented He (the she) as being only 14 years old, then, after their gov't was informed of the discovery, the records magically disappeared.

Usain Bolt is the fastest runner I've ever seen. That includes Carl Lewis. So effortless too. Wow.

Great gold medal game in basketball. Yes, I stayed up real late and watched the whole thing. It was one of the most entertaining basketball games I've ever witnessed. Spain would NOT let up - they kept making shot after incredible shot to stay in it. Tons of nifty runners in the lane and great play by the Gasols down low. Kobe Bryant might've been considered the MVP but Dwyane Wade set the tone early with some great shooting. I read that the PA blared "Born in the USA" after the Americans won the game. I wonder if they left in the line about killing the "yellow man". Eek.

The closing ceremonies were OK (in a predictably cheesy Super Bowl halftime sort of way).

I also stayed up to watch the gold medal basketball game. Their defense was pretty bad at times, unlike prior games.

When I saw the thread title, I thought it might be about Jimmy Page playing "Whole Lotta Love" at the closing ceremony.

Don't you mean Jimmy Vanilli?

I asked a librarian for recommenations, and they suggested Tom Clancy novels, but that's too masochistic.

I was thinking more along the lines of putting an endless loop of "U-S-A" chants on a boom box, and hanging out at bars with a beach volleyball court .
